65.6 . Lodge them where ye dwell , according to your wealth , and harass them not so as to straiten life for them . And if they are with child , then spend for them till they bring forth their burden . Then , if they give suck for you , give them their due payment and consult together in kindness ; but if ye make difficulties for one another , then let some other woman give suck for him ( the father of the child ) .

A Path to Noble Manners: Strong Faith
Learn
Strong and true belief in Almighty Allah is not only a force that restrains Muslims from the evil of both words and actions, but it also motivates every noble deed. That is why when the Qur’an directs Muslims to do what is good or avoid what is evil, it reminds them of their belief.

Almighty Allah says, (O you who believe! Fear Allah, and (always) say a word directed to the Right.) (Al-Ahzab 33:70)

(O you who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others.) (Al-Hujurat 49:11)

(O you who believe! Fear Allah and be with those who are true (in word and deed)) (At-Tawbah 9:119)

Sound faith should remind Muslims that Almighty Allah is their Lord, Islam is their religion, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is their prophet. Strong faith creates pleasant and kind manners whereas weak faith directly leads to the collapse of all good manners.

Some people came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Allah's Messenger a lady is known to pray, fast and give a lot of charity, but she harms her neighbors with her tongue."

When an order admits two interpretations
Hadith

Abdullah Ibn Umar reports: “When we returned home after the siege by the confederate tribes was ended, the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered us: ‘No one should offer the Asr prayer except at the Qurayzah quarters.

Some of us were still on the way when Asr was due. Some said that they would not pray until they have arrived at Qurayzah, while others said that they would pray on the way, because the Prophet did not wish anyone to delay prayers until its time was over. The Prophet was told of this, and he did not reproach either group.” (Related by Al-Bukhari).

The siege referred to in this Hadith was when the combined forces of major Arabian tribes, together with their Jewish allies, besieged Madinah, with the declared aim of exterminating Islam and all Muslims. The Prophet and his companions dug a moat along the area where these forces could come into Madinah, which was wide and deep enough to prevent any breach of their lines. The Muslims were able to hold on indefinitely because their enemy could not force entry, no matter how much they tried. It was only after the Jewish tribe of Qurayzah, which was bound by a treaty of friendship and alliance with the Muslims, decided to switch sides and attack the Muslims from behind that the Muslims were in real danger. Still, the Muslims were determined to continue with their resistance. Ultimately, the Muslims were able to create doubts among the various parties of their enemies, which led to the withdrawal of the Arabian tribes, humiliated and defeated without even putting up a fight. The Muslims were then able to go to their homes to rest.

An unusual opening
Quran

A Surah which We have bestowed from on high and which We have ordained; and in it have We bestowed from on high clear revelations, so that you may keep them in mind. (Light, Al-Noor: 24: 1)

Light is mentioned as an essential attribute of God: “God is the light of the heavens and the earth.” It is also mentioned in respect of its effect on people’s hearts and souls. Such effects are reflected in human morality and manners of individuals, families and communities. They give human life a bright color that enlightens hearts and makes consciences transparent.

The Surah Al-Noor begins with an emphatic declaration of the fact that it is bestowed from on high, and that it is decreed with all that it contains of directives, commandments and morality: “A Surah which We have bestowed from on high and which We have ordained; and in it have We bestowed from on high clear revelations, so that you may keep them in mind.”

This opening reflects the importance the Qur’an attaches to the moral aspect of human life, and its central position in the Islamic faith and the Islamic concept of life in this present world.

With a foot in the grave...
Dawah
The skin has wrinkled, the bones have softened, and the hair are colored, yet the enthusiasm for sins, the pleasure of disobedience and the neglect of the hereafter have not dwindled. This is our state – the uncles of the Muslim Ummah.
It is quite saddening to note that despite the reality dawning upon us with every passing day, we do not stop to reflect what answer we will have when we return to Allah. Elderly Muslims today – men and women – have so much time to kill in Haraam activities than do anything useful at all.

Oh, but the television shows have to be religiously followed! The latest movies, the new controversies in the media, the year-long sports events, the celebrity news, and (how can one forget) the gossip and backbiting all need our time!
Unfortunately, we are drowned in sins. And to add to that we constantly backbite to destroy whatever negligible good deeds we have.

The companion Amr Bin Al-As said, “...I am amazed at one who spots an impurity in the eye of another but is unable to detect it in his/her own eye, or who attempts to remove a grudge from another’s heart while making no attempt to remove grudges from his/her own heart...” (Al-Bukhari, Book of Manners, no. 1295)

Just as this article is being read, innumerable number of people would be breathing their last.
If today we were to be called into account for what we have done, what will be our state? How prepared are we? Are we actually worrying about our own future and working towards making Jannah our goal?

Stop whining & Think Positive
Learn

Are you a positive person? Are you dynamic or idle?
This article is quite significant to the youth especially those who are burdened with unemployment.

The question is; are you a positive person who will fight to overcome this problem, even though you are not to blame for it, or will you give up and allow circumstances to defeat you?
Most people constantly blame life's difficult circumstances and let that deter them from their ambitions and thus they easily give up and become passive.

Psychiatrists state that there are three specific factors that influence a person's decision: the genetic factor, the educational factor and the environmental factor. One may argue; if this is the case how can Allah swt punish people for behaving in a way that is influenced by external factors. The answer is that Allah (SWT) has also given people spiritual, emotional, and mental capabilities that they may use to overcome such factors. One has to use one's mind to adopt a positive attitude to defeat any obstacle as on the Day of Judgment when one will be assessed based on how one used such capabilities in conquering the three factors imposed upon oneself. This is the core of today’s episode; how to convert these capabilities into a positive force that can beat the abovementioned factors. Man's brain comprises of the conscious that thinks, analyzes, and asks questions, and the sub-conscious that cannot differentiate between fact and fiction. Scientifically when an idea moves from the conscious to the sub-conscious, it transcends a mere imagination into a reality that has to be put into effect. Thus, by being passive we are hindering one of Allah's gifts
